"To remain standing here is consigning the future to fear. But victory is before us; it's time to move on!" -Col. Robert Gould Shaw

In Christian Sympathy: Dick Grant
As a community, we mourn the death of longtime East Walpole resident and friend of the church Dick Grant, who passed into the nearer presence of God on March 14. A visitation will be held at the Delaney Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 8 from 4-7 pm. Funeral Services held be conducted at Union on Wednesday April 9 beginning at 10:30 am, followed by burial at the East Walpole Cemetery and a collation held in Herbert Harrison Hall. Please surround the Grant Family and Dick’s partner Ingrit Peters with your prayers.
It’s Chowdahfest Time!

We will need people to help with prep TONIGHT April 3rd, to wash and dice potatoes at 6:30. We also need 8 volunteers to help with serving and selling on Friday between 5-7 pm. Contact Laurie Kerns to volunteer ([email protected]).

Apple Harvest Fair Organizing Meeting
Come and debrief thoughts on the Apple Harvest Fair’s format, vendors, staging, and anything else that comes to mind this April 13th in the Parlor following coffee hour. We’ll share ideas and think together about how to make the 2025 Apple Harvest Fair the best one yet. All are invited!
Music Notes
Spread the word and plan to attend our Spring concert, Divinity’s Creation this Saturday. This is a showcase of the wonderful musical gifts of our community, and an opportunity to raise funds to support our music program. Every ticket sold supports the wonderful gift of music we experience in worship each Sunday.
This Sunday in worship, we’ll be joined by Natalia St. Jean, who was scheduled to be with us on one of the “snow day” Sundays back in February.
Sunday Sermon Snippet
Can you believe we’ve already come to the fifth week of Lent? Just one more week and we will celebrate Jesus’s triumphal entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday! This Lenten season, our theme has been “Into the Wild,” but this Sunday, we will hear about the moment when, after 40 years, God told the Israelites it was time to come out of the wilderness and into the Promised Land. Would you be surprised to learn that there were some who were nervous about moving on—who wanted to stay in the wilderness?
Have you ever been on the verge of getting something you’ve dreamed of, only to pull back? What got you over that moment of “cold feet”? This week, we’ll hear how God uses wilderness times to prepare us to “move on” to abundant life.

This week, as a community of faith we pray:
with joy, for Peg White, who became a grandmother last week; for Miles and Correena, who welcomed a baby boy.
for comfort, at the death of Dick Grant
with joy, for Barbara’s getting to celebrate her great-grandchildren’s birthday in Maine.
with thanks, for the Grants (Chuck and Joanne), and for Jane M.’s invitation to church
with concern, for the people in Myanmar and Thailand affected by the earthquake this past weekend
with concern, for those unjustly targeted by ICE raids
for those struggling with mental health and homelessness
for Lauren, and for those searching for employment, and for health
with joy, for Lew’s recovery from the Flu, and for continued improvement.
for Pastor Shepherd’s cousin Rachel and her husband Adam and their newborn daughter Lorelei, who is still hospitalized.
for healing for Lew’s brother Richard, and his wife Paula.
