EVER-PRESENT GOD,
YOU CALL US ON A JOURNEY TO A PLACE WE DO NOT KNOW.
WE ARE NOT WHERE WE STARTED.
WE HAVE NOT REACHED OUR DESTINATION,
WE ARE NOT SURE WHERE WE ARE OR WHO WE ARE.
THIS IS NOT A COMFORTABLE PLACE.
BE AMONG US WE PRAY.
CALM OUR FEARS, SAVE US FROM DISCOURAGEMENT,
AND HELP US TO STAY ON COURSE,
OPEN OUR HEARTS TO YOUR GUIDANCE SO THAT OUR JOURNEY TO THIS
UNKNOWN PLACE CONTINUES AS A JOURNEY OF TRUST.

Thank You from the Shepherds
Whitney, the boys, and I are so grateful for the wonderful farewell service and reception that we shared with y'all last Sunday. From the beautifully sung hymns to the tiny cupcakes (the boys' favorite!) and wonderful cake, it was a special morning—but even more special was seeing familiar faces and having a chance to say goodbye. Thank you all especially for your generous going-away gift; it is a big help to us during this transition period. I'm so grateful to have served in ministry with such a giving church—but most grateful for the gift of friendship! Blessings to you all as you continue on life's journey together!

with joy, for Laurie’s sister Esther completing her 5th of “the big 7” marathons in 3:06 in Sydney Australia!
with thanks, for those who volunteer to lead worship by serving as readers
for Pam, as she recovers from a heart procedure, and for positive results for her health
for children and families in times of transition (starting new school year)
for teachers, bus drivers, and administrators at schools in our communities as they begin a new school year
for Lynn’s sister Dyan, who is moving to Pennsylvania
with joy, that Jim’s mother’s house is FINALLY on the market!
